I first met Malcolm nearly 25 years ago in early July 1996. It was a difficult time for youth workers in Lewisham with restructuring and budget reductions yet Malcolm and other colleagues made it the happiest time of my working life. It was a privilege and an honour to have worked with Malcolm on so many projects. His legacy will surely endure as he made an enormous impact on countless young people and adults alike. Malcolm worked tirelessly for young people and developed innovative and effective programmes to give young people a voice and to empower them to reach their potential. Malcolm was dedicated and principled. A true professional and always supportive, positive and constructive with partners and all who he worked with. I'm so grateful that I had the opportunity to know him. He was truly a legend and I'll miss him forever.
